Clik here to view.Last week Rovio Mobile unleashed the Valentine’s Day update for their ultra-popular Angry Birds Seasons and now, it looks like Pocket-Lint got the inside scoop on some more Angry Birds news, straight from the source. Apparently Angry Birds is making its way to Windows Phone 7 devices and it looks like there’s an Angry Birds 3D in the works!
Back when Windows Phone 7 was launching Microsoft took it upon themselves to use some Angry Birds imagery to promote their new mobile platform, without Rovio’s consent. According to the post over at Pocket-Lint those sour days are water under the bridge now and Angry Birds is most definitely making its way to WP7 in the near future. There was unspecific release date announced but Rovio did say, “We’re working on it.” Apparently the hold up hasn’t been Rovio Mobile; instead they note ‘Microsoft has a lot of lawyers.”
The real news (in my opinion) is the announcement of Angry Birds 3D. New devices like the Nintendo 3DS and LG Optimus 3D don’t require us to wear those lame glasses and 3D games could be all the rage when these handhelds hit the market. With Angry Birds already ridiculously successful, there’s no question a 3D version would be a next step. Especially considering Rovio Mobile acquired 3D game developer Pixelgene back in 2006. Just like Angry Birds for WP7, there’s no word on when Angry Birds 3D will launch, or which devices we’ll see it on first, all we know is, “it’s all in the works.”
Would you play Angry Birds in 3D if you didn’t have to wear glasses? What about Windows Phone 7 users? Are you excited the blockbuster mobile game of 2010 is making its way to you device?
